- This internally based Service Manager position (NOT in field), will manage the Biomedical Technology Department and team outcomes to achieve company objectives and provide high-quality service to customers, leading the team with customer centricity at the foundation for ANZ.
- The role will schedule work assignments and coordinate service activities including analytics for performance and provide customer centric technical support, troubleshooting and repair of medical equipment to customers.
- Even though a management role, this role is hands-on, leading by example, you will carry out functional tests, diagnose faults and carry out repairs on products both in-house and at customer sites (mainly in-house).
- You will develop service systems including standard operating procedures to take the company to being compliant with ISO13485 and you will ensure all activities are conducted in a safe manner and that all operations and outcomes conform to AS/NZS3551 and ISO9001 policy.
- You will optimise workflows through the department to maximise efficiencies and manage repair of equipment, equipment acquisition and calibration.
- You will coordinate with technical service engineers, international technical groups, and external contractors to ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner and accurately estimate the cost of service and prepare quotations where necessary.
- You will ensure customers are notified at appropriate workflow stages and where international return/repair is necessary, ensure equipment being returned is properly prepared and documented.
- Previous experience in leading a small on-site engineering team, managing service departmental capability and competency, in the medical device industry.
- Tertiary qualifications in electronics, electrical engineering or biomedical engineering (with electrical subjects) is essential.
- Excellent knowledge of biomedical equipment, including the operation of and use of biomedical test equipment and strong electronic skills including understanding common circuits and component-level electronic troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to read and understand schematics and the ability to carry out fine electronic and mechanical repairs including complex soldering tasks.
- Technical equipment fault-finding skills will be highly regarded.
- An understanding of hardware including modules, power supplies and control signal conventions.
- A solid understanding of operating systems, networking and programming objectives.
- Familiarity with hospital/surgical environments and Australian standards AS3551 and AS3200 is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO13485 and transition to certification.
