- This Territory Manager role looks after sales for NSW, however, primarily looks after metro Sydney customers with occasional travel to regional areas to achieve sales and profit targets.
- This position will be responsible for the products on the NSW Health contract, meeting personal sales targets, developing new business opportunities, maintaining customer relationships with, eg. Directors of Pharmacy, ICU, Procurement, Anaesthetics, Operating Theatre (though this is not a surgical device with NO on-call), etc., and troubleshooting specific customer problems.
- You will develop an in-depth knowledge of products, competitors and the market within this hospital product portfolio and develop and implement a relationship management plan for existing and potential customer accounts to identify and build relationships with relevant decision makers and influencers within hospitals.
- You will set clear objectives for each sales call or meeting, asking relevant questions to gather information, to evaluate the customer's level of interest, and to identify and respond to areas requiring further information or explanation and tailor marketing messages when presenting to decision makers and influencers within hospitals.
- You will develop a professional network within the sales territory, obtain market intelligence and represent the organisation at trade displays and other events to identify sales opportunities, promote the organisation and enhance its reputation.
- You will use your expertise to identify the products and/or services offered by the organisation to meet the customer's needs, together with quantities and product configurations. You will present these to the customer with a clear rationale and at standard commercial terms, referring to senior colleagues where necessary to ask for concessions (eg. price reduction) that gain the customer's agreement.
- You will enter customer information that has been gathered through research and/or through direct customer contact into the customer relationship management system after each contact with a customer to create a call plan and to ensure that the organisation has quality data to enable effective customer retention and business development activities.
- Ideally a clinical qualification, possibly science or nursing or other tertiary qualification.
- Sales experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative, in primary or specialty care OR you will be a medical device sales representative. Ideally you will have experience selling within the hospital environment in Sydney.
- Able to work without supervision and provide technical guidance to quickly and accurately define the needs of key influencers and decision makers.
- Able to understand customer needs, determine the root of customer needs, uncover customer goals and seek out customer priorities.
