- This Commercial Sales Director position sits on the Senior Leadership Team and will oversee and manage all aspects of product sales, product and marketing operations across ANZ. The responsibilities include the development and execution of strategic plans to advance and expand the healthcare distribution business within the ANZ market by effectively coordinating and leading sales and marketing teams.
- The role will drive profitability through strategic sales initiatives, pricing strategies, margin optimisation, and inventory management. Success in this role will be measured by effective P&L management, sales growth, and the management and development of employees.
- You will lead 8 direct reports (all managers) to drive performance and growth and establish goals, review performance, and utilise a Performance Management System to track and guide team achievements.
- The position will monitor and analyse sales performance across all divisions and territories and collaborate with managers to implement corrective actions to achieve objectives.
- You will collaborate with a Business Analyst to develop and execute strategic plans supporting commercial activities and maintain and enhance relationships with key Business Partners in the commercial sales domain.
- You will partner with Business Development Managers to assess and onboard new Business Partners, Products, and Technologies and engage relevant stakeholders for due diligence.
- You will support strategic planning, go-to-market strategies, product launches, and promotional activities and assist your team with quarterly business reviews and presentations to key Business Partners.
- We are looking beyond a traditional Head of Sales profile. The right person will be able to connect strategy through to execution and ultimately financial outcomes and have managed a business turnover of $20M+.
- You will have had exposure to P&L ownership, understanding the levers around gross margin and operating income, and are comfortable operating at an executive level with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally including hospital C-suite.
- Experience across capital equipment, consumables, and clinical adoption models is important. Exposure to reimbursement pathways (eg. MSAC), along with government and hospital engagement, will be highly valuable.
- We’d also favour someone who has helped launch or scale new technologies, not just managed established portfolios.
- We’re looking for someone who can bring rigour to forecasting, pipeline management, and improve CRM discipline.
- Evidence of building or reshaping teams, territories, or business units is important, with a focus on repeatable frameworks rather than one-off success stories.
- We need someone who genuinely understands the commercial engine from margins, pricing strategy, inventory impact, and cost-to-serve and consistently makes decisions that improve profitability, not just revenue.
- 7+ years of business management experience, leading people and teams, including developing leaders, in the medical device industry, with full P&L responsibility.
- Experience leading a national sales function at Director level, managing managers.
- Degree level education.
