THE OPPORTUNITY – WHAT YOU WILL LEAD & GROW
  • This Category & Customer Marketing Manager role will be responsible for leading category and customer marketing through cross-functional partnership, market partner inputs and a focus on customer-centricity and insight-led thinking.
  • The position will lead the development, socialisation, and execution of strategies to profitably grow revenue with key customers in partnership with key accounts and the broader commercial organisation. The role will partner to develop and implement account-specific plans and programs that engage key account customers.
  • The role is responsible for leading Category Management and Customer Marketing and the creation of channel and customer strategies based on customer insights that positively impact customers as well as the shopping/purchase experience to grow sales, share and preference as a vendor, and their sell-through to customers.
  • The position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of customer business plans & marketing programs that convert the above strategies into executable, measurable initiatives and the assessment of customer program effectiveness to inform operating expense investment and program modification decisions.
  • In conjunction with key account managers, you will plan and monitor marketing rebates and marketing key account investment within the allocated KAM budget.
  • You will build a deep knowledge of industry, category and channel dynamics, customer growth strategies and competitor programs to provide insights that inform the development of customer marketing strategies and programs, and influence product marketing, marcomms, and professional affairs plans.
  • You will be responsible for the pricing and communication of private label products and contribute to the annual pricing review committee.
  • You will develop and track success metrics of account marketing programs, promotions, and activities, and recommend actions to optimise operating expense effectiveness and ROI.
  • You will build a collaborative partnership with the sales organisation (key accounts and field sales) that enables alignment on customer strategies and programs to achieve commercial objectives, while minimising channel friction.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Minimum of 3 years of Customer Marketing experience in a similar role in FMCG/OTC, category management ideally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field.
  • Hands-on go-getter, willing to roll up sleeves and personally act to drive success.
  • Superior influencing and relationship-building skills, both with customers and internal stakeholders, which allow the achievement of strategic and business goals.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills. Prior experience developing and presenting trade presentations and account planning tools and templates.
  • Excellent applied qualitative and quantitative analytic skills.
  • Experience in managing advertising, promotion, and other marketing vendors.
  • Analytical skills in terms of exposure to business intelligence tools is important, ie. PowerBI and Tableau. You will need to demonstrate, by way of example, that you have drawn commercial insights from data to develop a business case and then a strategy which has grown market share.
