- This organisation is looking for a Commercial Accountant to join their team on Sydney’s North Shore. This is a hands‐on role at the heart of their business covering accounting, payroll, compliance, and inventory operations for the ANZ market.
- The position will manage full‑cycle accounting, including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journals, and month‑end processes and prepare management reports, cash‑flow forecasts, and financial analysis for leadership.
- The role will maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and oversee BAS, IAS, payroll tax, superannuation, and other statutory lodgements, along with processing weekly/fortnightly payroll accurately and on time.
- You will maintain employee records, leave balances, and payroll compliance and coordinate with management on remuneration changes and workforce updates.
- You will oversee inventory movements, stock levels, and warehouse coordination and manage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight bookings, tracking, and supplier communication.
- You will reconcile inventory between Zoho Inventory, Zoho Books, and physical stock counts.
- You will maintain audit‑ready documentation and support external auditors when required.
- This role is a full-time position, based in the office 5 days a week, 9am to 5pm with free on-site parking and access to public transport.
- You are a CPA or IPA‐qualified accountant with experience in Zoho Books and Xero.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting or management accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and accounting standards.
- Experience managing inventory, logistics, or supply‑chain workflows (preferred).
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities with the ability to work independently in a small team.
- A proactive operator who takes ownership of financial and operational processes.
- You will have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written with full working rights for Australia with at least 5 years’ experience working in Australia as a qualified accountant.
